Education Otherwise Than At School (EOTAS) at Chevin Academy
At Chevin Academy in Belper, we know that not every learner thrives in a traditional school setting. For some young people with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), a more personalised approach is needed. That's why we offer tailored Education Otherwise Than At School (EOTAS) packages, designed around each learner's individual strengths, needs, and future goals.
Our EOTAS provision enables students to continue learning and progressing outside of a full-time mainstream placement. Each programme is carefully built to:
Support EHCP outcomes with flexible, bespoke learning packages
Deliver core education (Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT) at the right pace
Develop independence, employability, and life skills through community and vocational opportunities
Use the RARPA framework (Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement) to evidence progress for families and Local Authorities
Provide emotional wellbeing and pastoral support alongside academic learning
Offer delivery in school, the community, or at home, depending on learner needs
Our aim is to ensure that every young person has access to meaningful, high-quality education that prepares them for adulthood, employment, and independent living—wherever they learn best.
If you would like to find out more about Chevin Academy's EOTAS provision, or discuss whether it could be the right pathway for your child or student, please get in touch with our team.
